STORAGE AND MEMORY

Fauvism, Cubism, Orphism, Futurism, Blue Rider, Expressionism – the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich unites the avant-gardes of the 20th century. So it's a must for every aficionado of modern art and, more than that, it is the largest museum for 20th century art, design and architecture anywhere in the world.

The Pinakothek der Moderne serves as a non-digital storage and memory assembled in tribute to the art and design of the 20th and 21st centuries, while also serving as a forum for the discussion of contemporary topics and trends. The modern art collection is famous for its major works of the Classical Modern period. The extraordinary diversity of the exhibits is accompanied by a rich and inspiring programme of events and education. This is a place for sensory and intellectual enjoyment, for making encounters, discoveries and for exploring – right in the heart of Munich's art district.
