: Lakes
Our three lakes count among the warmest in Bavaria. Four swimming areas and idyllic public beaches can be found on the lakes Staffelsee, Riegsee and Froschhauser See, where all sorts of water sports can be persued too.
With its seven islands and the soft, moory water, lake Staffelsee is unique. The passenger boat "MS Seehausen" connects Murnau, Seehausen and Uffing with periodical round trips and offers the chance for a discovery trip.

The Staffelsee, one of Upper Bavarias largest lakes, is a very popular lake among holidaymakers who like swimming. Its waters are soft, moory and warm up very quickly.
Lake Riegsee »
Situated approximately 2 km east of lake Staffelsee is lake Riegsee, also a warm lake with excellent water quality very suitable for swimming. Due to favourable wind conditions the lake is popular with surfers. There is a surfing school and surf boards are for rent.
Lake Froschhauser See »
situated in a nature reserve. It is particularly popular with those who just want a quick refreshing plunge. Boats are prohibited. There is parking space for hikers and swimmers.
