STILL WATERS RUN DEEP

Take off into the blue! Surrounded by crystal-clear lakes and deep blue water, Murnau's countryside is an opportunity to experience nature from a completely different perspective. Whether it be angling or fly-fishing on the shores and banks of one of the countless lakes and rivers, on a boat, a raft or the good ship MS Seehausen. Enjoy the foothills of the Alps in their purest form.

Fishing

There are rich fishing grounds to be enjoyed on the lakes and rivers around Murnau. Anglers can bank on getting their money's worth. Just obtain the requisite fishing licence or permit (Angelschein), and fish species such as moray, pike and sander will be dangling from your hook in no time at all. Lake and river maps can be found on-site. Some equipment hire is also available. More information available directly from outlets.

Staffelseeschifffahrt – a cruise across Murnau’s Staffelsee lake

Sail across the Staffelsee Lake. It takes the MS Seehausen about 80 minutes to circumnavigate the Staffelsee Lake where it makes scheduled stops at the towns of Uffing, Seehausen and Murnau, as well as the campground, Campingplatz Buchau, upon request. The MS Seehausen is a passenger ship with a heated lounge for 100 people and an upper deck, from where up to 170 passengers can enjoy an incredible panoramic view – across the lake and its islands, and the surrounding hills and mountains.

The regular moonlight cruises in summer are a very special experience. And each trip has its very own theme. Information about the events programme is available from www.staffelsee.org.
