The rich aroma of spiced piping hot wine and roasted almonds, cottage industry crafts and culinary delights, the music of Christmas fills the air in a festive sea of decorative lights: On the weekend of the third advent meander through Murnau’s traditional Christmas Market which extends beautifully throughout the upper and lower market streets of the historical and exquisitely preserved pedestrian zone.
Santa Claus on his one horse open sleigh, a merry-go-round and many more delights are treasured features for our tiny guests.

Little Christmas Village
As a festive prelude, the little Christmas village located around St. Mary’s Column will be open from November 27th to December 23rd inviting you to enjoy the evenings. The cosy wooden huts will be the domain of craftsmen who will demonstrate their various arts. This is the perfect festive atmosphere to meet friends, enjoy spiced wine, Christmas biscuits or traditional sausages.
