Embedded in a large nature reserve, the campgrounds around Murnau provide a fantastic setting to pitch a tent or park your caravan/RV or trailer. Besides the amazingly beautiful landscape, you can look forward to well-kept, clean grounds, optimum sanitary facilities, playgrounds and sheer relaxation. The restaurants on the lake will spoil you with culinary delights, and the snack bars on the shore and in the nearby villages offer everything your heart desires.

In Murnau, you will also find RV/caravan sites in central locations with all the amenities you need for comfortable camping.

The Burg peninsula juts into the Staffelsee lake between Wörth and St. Jakob islands. Surrounded by romantic coves and stately trees, this is one of the most beautiful campgrounds in the Blue Land. The Getzreiter family has been hosting families on the peninsula for over 20 years and gives both visitors and locals the unique feeling of being in the middle of the lake and on land at the same time.

Enjoy natural surroundings on the shores of the Staffelsee lake and the amenities of a modern camping vacation with: sanitary facilities, washing machines and driers as well as multiple options for cooking – the Kiosk (snack bar) has a generous selection of groceries available. And whenever you don't feel like cooking, the Burgstüberl restaurant with a beer garden can provide creature comforts. Their cheesecake, a specialty of the house, is a must-try. In the summertime, you can enjoy good food while chatting with other campers at the BBQ evenings. Children can look forward to a playground and table tennis as well as regular movie afternoons. You can remain connected to the outside world and go online with a cost-free Internet hotspot.

The campground on the Burg peninsula is the perfect home base for all your activities: cultural events in the neighbouring towns of Seehausen and Murnau, a mountain climb or hike in alpine terrain or a bicycle ride through the Bavarian lake district. As refreshing water is always just a few feet away, you may want to bring along your own boat or canoe and discover the enchanting islands with their ancient history and unique vegetation and wildlife like Robinson Crusoe.
