As "Royal mansion", Castle Linderhof is unique in its architecture among Ludwig II of Bavaria`s castles. Linderhof is also the only castle which the king saw the completion of and where he resided occasionally.

The image is world-famous. Castle Neuschwanstein built on the Pöllat Rock high above the gorge is a total art work of historicism.

The romantic castle served as summer residence for the Bavarian royal family, and king Ludwig II spent a happy chilhood here.
